June 8, 2009
Over the past twenty-three years the Lord has blessed the Caribbean Graduate School with good students, excellent instructors, and a very supportive Christian community. Some of our graduates have gone on to higher education, while others have returned to active front-line ministry. We are pleased with the impact the graduates of CGST are making on the church and society throughout the Caribbean.
As we prepare to commend and release a new set of graduates, the graduating class of 2009 is anxiously awaiting that moment of commendation and release. We cordially invite you to join us on Friday July 3, for the 2009 Graduation Exercise which takes place at the Boulevard Baptist Church, Washington Boulevard, at 5.30 PM. This will be the first graduation exercise for our new President, Dr Las Newman.
Special Guest Speaker will be Dr David Baer, President and CEO of Overseas Council. Dr Baer will be honored by CGST with the conferment of the Doctor of Divinity Degree (honoris causa) for his outstanding contribution to the training and development of Christian leadership in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Dr Baer is an Old Testament Scholar with a PhD in Old Testament from the University of Cambridge. In 1996 he was awarded the John Stuart of Rannoch Hebrew Prize at the University of Cambridge and holds certificates in German and Spanish as a foreign language. He also served as President of ESEPA Seminary in San Jose, Costa Rica.
At this graduation exercise you will be able to participate in the exciting news regarding future plans for the development of CGST.
May we also invite you to the Special Dedication Service for the Graduating Class, which takes place on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Swallowfield Chapel, 5 Swallowfield Road, in Kingston at 10.30 AM. Please join us.
The favor of a reply to this invitation will be appreciated.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
John Keane Head of Communications
